Welcome to ScimitarJKD, Teaching a unique combination of Old School Jeet Kune Do and Jeet Kune Do Concepts, and related martial arts aiming for a complete street combat.
Why Choose Scimitar JKD?
With so many other excellent arts out there such are Karate, Ju Jitsu, MMA, Krav Maga, Boxing, Thai Boxing, Tae Kwon Do and many many more why train JKD? Here at ScimitarJKD we teach a blend of arts specifically designed for street combat using many principles and techniques from other arts blended together to fit todays street encounters.
Traditional arts can be inefficient or outdated for todays environment, sport based arts can be great at sparring but limit themselves and the practitioner by adherence to rules. Simple concepts such as training in footwear can make a difference. You will not be wearing a Gi and in bare feet in the street. Training in any martial art is always good but the artist should analyse what is being taught and imagine would that technique work against an opponent who is actively resisting!?

Jeet Kune Do or JKD is the martial art philosophy that Bruce Lee developed over the last few years of his life. Originally Bruce wanted to create his own style but over time felt that this was too limiting to the martial artist, as Bruce felt a one size fits all scenario was too riged. He wanted to tailor fit his art to the practitioner. He developed some core techniques that aligned with his principals, Such as Economy of Motion, Intercepting, Strong Hand Forward, Physical Fitness and Training. To complete the ideals of Bruce Lee ScimitarJKD has combined different lineages of JKD from different instructors who trained with Bruce and combined to get the most total system for today's environment. We teach JKD principles and JKD concepts along with Western fencing ideals, Western Boxing and aspects of Wing Chun, Thai Boxing, Filipino Martial arts, Grappling arts such as Judo, Ju-Jitsu (Brazilian and Traditional) WW2 Combatives and other arts to ensure we have the most complete approach to street combat.
